Task 7 is
complete except for documentation. Task 7 included work items originally specified under
Tasks 6 (project Formulation) and Task 8 (Review and Screen Alternatives). These Tasks
were combined with Task 7 at the direction of the Colorado River Water Conservation District
(CRWCD) after it concluded that the formulation, evaluation and screening of projects would
best be accomplished in an on-going and iterative process. The documentation of the expanded
Task 7 is the subject of this memorandum.

, Objectives of Task 7

The objectives of this task were to evaluate, on a systematic basis, the alternative
projects identified and formulated in Tasks 4 and 5. This evaluation relied heavily on the river
basin computer model developed in Task 4 and the reservoir site information gathered in Task
S. Evaluation criteria of alternatives included projected shortages to basin demands,
fluctuations in reservoir storage and maintenance of instream flows.

Description of Approach

Task 7 was divided into six sub-tasks:

. Sub-task 7a Incorporate Alternatives into Basin Model
. Sub-task 7b Near-term-only Model Runs and Evaluation
. Sub-task 7c Near-plus-Iong-term Model Runs and Evaluation
. Sub-task 7d Final Layout and Quantity Takeoff
. Sub-task 7e Summarize Evaluations in Technical Memorandum
. Sub-task 7f Long-term General Environmental Impacts (contingent)

,.i!;..""
