<br />"' <br /> <br />o <br />o <br />~ <br />-J <br />en <br />~ <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />'. <br /> <br />SOUTHEASTERN COLORADO WATER <br />CONSERVANCY DISTRICT <br /> <br />REPORT <br /> <br />CITY OF LAMAR <br /> <br />LAMAR REQUEST <br /> <br />This report is devoted to a discussion of the various aspects of <br /> <br />the problem relating to the request of the City of Lamar to procure a <br /> <br />municipal water supply by means of a proposed Valley pipeline from waters <br /> <br /> <br />imported from Western Colorado by means of the Fryingpan Project of <br /> <br />the Southeastern Colorado Water Conservancy District. The request <br /> <br />was made approximately two years ago and although there has been some <br /> <br />subsequent correspondence, no formal action has been taken on the request. <br /> <br />Initially the Bureau of Reclamation was requested to supply information <br /> <br />relating to the effect of Lamar's request on pipeline design, increased <br /> <br />capacity requirements and costs associated therewith. The detail design <br /> <br />of the pipeline is not yet completed. Recently the Bureau of Reclamation <br /> <br />did tabulate certain information with reference to the City of Lamar and <br /> <br />that information is available in the form of graphs. The board of directors <br /> <br />of the Southeastern Colorado Water Conservancy District is of the opinion <br /> <br />that Lamar is entitled to an answer before La.mar spends any monies <br /> <br />associated with its request and the obligation is on the District to resolve <br /> <br />.1 <br />I <br /> <br />the fundamental issue. <br /> <br />Lamar's metropolitan area claims a population of a.pproximately <br />
