Supreme Court Stipulation (1968.-1975) <br /> <br />Prior to 1968, the Engineer of Colorado did not place calls on <br /> <br />administrable water rights to meet Colorado's commitment to the Rio <br /> <br />Grande Compact. However, water deliveries were significantly cur- <br /> <br />tailed in 1968 and since to meet the stipulation, The average annual <br /> <br />curtailment on the Conejos to date is 21,600 acre-feet (32,800-11,200) <br /> <br />(see Table II). This is 172,800 acre-feet for the 8-year period. <br /> <br />Average annual curtailment on the Rio Grande lessConejos totaled <br /> <br />61,400 acre-feet (32,000 + 28,600). This is 484,000 acre-feet for <br /> <br />.the 8-year period. <br /> <br />Discussion <br /> <br />1n this discussion, the conejos River, including the San Antonio <br /> <br />River and the Los Pinos River and all waters tributary thereto <br /> <br />excepting tributary undergroul1d waters in the San Luis Valley, will <br /> <br />be referred to as "the Conejos." All waters tributary.to the Rio <br /> <br />Grande abov.e Lobatos, except the Conejos River and its tributaries, <br /> <br />surface and underground, will be referred to as the "Rio Grande." <br /> <br />-4- <br />
