The terms <br /> <br />of the Compact protected the then e.y;istinguse of water in Colorado <br /> <br />by setting up a schedule of delivery at Lobatos. <br /> <br />Immediate Post-Compact.Studv Period (1938-1942) <br /> <br />The. summation of deliveries at Los Sauces from 1928 to 1942 was <br /> <br />an average of plus 800 acre-feet per year OVer the required delivery <br /> <br />schedule, but the .trend of negative departures had beg-un (see 'l'able <br /> <br />II) . <br /> <br />Period of Ma-jorChanqe inPe1iveries at Los Sauces (1943-1949) <br /> <br />Table II sets forth delivery departures at Los Sauces for <br /> <br />various periods. <br /> <br />The years from 1943 to 1949 are those of greatest change in <br /> <br />departures increasing from an average of plus 1,600 aCre-feet (1928 <br /> <br />to 1937) to minus 32,800 acre-feet (1950 to 1967). The average <br /> <br />annual change in departures during this period is from +1,600 to <br /> <br />~32,800, .or a total of -34,400 acre-feet. The. gr",atest departure <br /> <br />(1952--95,600 acre-feet) followed two years of low index supply. <br /> <br />". '}-~ <br />
