Irrigated pasture

and some minor crops not reported in these reports will be

estimated from information in the 1974 and 1978 National

Census of Agriculture, Second National Water Assessment,

supporting information from framework studies, Bureau

project reports, and various other Federal, State, and

local reports. In essence, the county data from the

statistics will be disaggregated into the reporting areas

and subareas for computational purposes. Subareas generally

follow tributary stream basin and State boundsries. Tables

showing irrigated acreage values will be included in the

report.

(2) Irrigation Cons~ptive Use

Irrigation consumptive use rates will be computed using the

modified Blaney - Criddle equation as described in SCS TR No.

21. Growing season and "K" curves presented in TR No. 21 will

also be used. However, the "K" values for the lower elevation

desert areas may be selected from Technical Bulletin 169,

"Consumptive Use of Water by Crops in Arizona," if, in

the opinion of the technicians, there is justification for

doing so.

9
