<br />HIGHLIGHTS OF 1986 OPERATIONS <br /> <br />Hater year 1986 runoff was above average throughout the System (Western <br />Division System) varying from 109 percent of average for the river gains <br />between Alcova and Glendo Reservoirs to 160 percent of average into <br />Willow Creek Reservoir. Several near-record inflow volumes were <br />recorded for the 1986 water year. <br /> <br />Water year precipitation totals for October-September varied from <br />~verage to 136 percent of average on the Guernsey watershed. <br /> <br />Record high temperatures were set in February and March at many stat ions <br />throughout the system. Walden recorded the warmest March on record. <br />~anuary, February, and March with an average temperature of 41 of broke <br />menver's record for the warmest first quarter since recordkeeping began <br />~!n 1872. <br />~ <br />New records or near records of snowpack water content occurred at <br />~everal watersheds in the System during the 1986 water year. <br />.,' <br /> <br />~orth Platte Project storage water ownership was filled on May 8, 1986, <br />~.~endrick storage water ownership was filled on May 27, 1986, and Glendo <br />~torage water ownership was filled on June 5, 1986. <br />ff <br />. he Northern Colorado Water Conservancy District (Northern) declared <br />. ,oncharge water in April. This was the second time noncharge water had <br />~een declared this early. Noncharge water was also declared in May <br />'nd July. Alva B.
