The State is contributing $28,000 to the program in <br /> <br />1959-60. <br /> <br />Cooperative Snow Management Research (U.S.F.S.) <br />In 1956 the Department of Water Resources entered into <br />a cooperative agreement with the Pacific Southwest Forest and <br />Range Experiment Station for the purpose of snow management <br />research, The objective of the 10-year study planned by the <br />Experiment Station 1s an increase 1n water yield and improvement <br />in regimen of snowmelt. The State is contributing $65,000 to the <br />program in 1959-60. <br />Cooperative Ground Water Recharge Studies (ARS) <br />Since the early 1920'S predecessors of the Department of <br />Water Resources have executed contracts with predecessors of the <br />Agricultural Research Service for investigations of water uses . <br />and requirements, evaporation, water spreading and other research <br /> <br />projects which that agency is particularly qualified to carry out. <br /> <br />These contracts have been reviewed each year up to the present <br />emphasis each year varying with circumstances.
