Gronning, P.E. <br />President <br />Page 6 <br /> <br />GROUNDWATER DEVELOPMENT AUGMENTATION AND EXCHANGE PLANS-COLORADO SPRINGS -- <br />Directed the development of irrigation return flow studies for the City of Colorado Springs. Work has <br />included development of a lawn water lysimeter prograrn, including the design and insrallation of over <br />ninety lawn water lysimerers randomly located to develop a statistically representative sample of irrigation <br />water use of Colorado Springs, development of a monitoring and data collection program, developrnent of <br />a two-dimensional finite difference groundwater rnodel utilizing the USGS McDonald-Harbough model and <br />developmenr of plans for obtaining decrees for both a surface exchange for the return flows as well as credits <br />for augmenting both present and future groundwarer development. <br /> <br />UPPER BLACK SQUIRREL CREEK DESIGNATED GROUNDWATER BASIN n Performed studies of the impact <br />of a major groundwater developrnent for the Upper Black Squirrel Creek Designated Groundwarer Basin. <br />Studies included modeling of the impact of a major groundwater development in the Basin and the probable <br />impact on the regional groundwater availability and water table for the Basin's managernenr district. <br /> <br />FOREST PARK PROPERTY -- Directed the development of a plan for augmentation and decree for Denver <br />Basin nonoibutary warer rights for the 320-acre Forest Park property locared in the Cherry Creek Basin in <br />Colorado. Negotiared with objectors in this plan anti testified as an expert witness in warer court. Decree <br />for the plan for augmentation and nonnibutary warer rights were successfully obrained in water court. <br /> <br />EAST PARKER PROPERTY n Direcred the development of a plan for nor;tributary warer development of a <br />. MO-acre pruperty located east of Park.,", Colorado. Plan included projecting land ,"se and water <br />requirements. Determined the impacts of alternative <br />wastewater treannent scenarios on water rights in the water short Cherty Creek Basin and recommended <br />plans which allow for the de'lelopment of feasible solution to potentially severe water quality concerns in <br />Cherry Creek Reservoir. Presented testimol<Y to rhe Colorado Water Quality Control Commission which was <br />used as a basis for development of a water quality strategy for the Cheny Creek Basin. <br /> <br />Mana~ement Consultin~ <br /> <br />METROPOUTAN WATER RATE STUDY n Assisted Metropolitan Denver Water Authority in the review and <br />analysis of a Metropolitan Water Rate Study perionned by the Denver Water Depanment. Reptesented the <br />Authority in the development oithe rate study and presented alternatives for rate development to the Denver <br />Water Board. <br /> <br />WATER SYSTEMS APPRAlSAL -- Directed the appraisal of two small rural water systems for potential <br />purchase as a part of a plan for extending municipal water service outside the boundaries of the Denver <br />Suburban water utility. <br />
