(b)). <br /> <br />PROJECT CONSTRUCTION COST AND PROJECT OPERATION, <br />MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR COST DEFERRALS -- These <br />deferrals will allow the tribes an opportunity to <br />generate revenue from the water resources prior to <br />commencing repayment for project facilities, <br />WAIVER OF FEDERAL RECLAMATION LAW. -- This waiver <br />will insure that the tribes' agreement to take <br />water from the reclamation project in satisfaction <br />of their reserved rights claim does not subject the <br />tribe to inappropriate burdens on their use of <br />water such as the 960-acre limitation opposed by <br />Reclamation law, <br /> <br />c <br /> <br />AUTHORIZATION AND APPROPRIATION OF THE $49.5 <br />MILLION FEDERAL CONTRIBUTION TO THE TRIBAL <br />DEVELOPMENT FUNDS -- This contribution, along with <br />the state contribution of $11 million ($5,000,000 <br />for the development fund and $6,000,000 for the <br />Towaoc pipeline), will provide the tribes with <br />financial resources needed to develop their water <br />resources, <br /> <br />WAIVER OF TRIBAL CLAIMS -- This waiver <br />the Tribes to waive and release claims <br />the water rights involved in the <br />Agreement, <br /> <br />authorized <br />concerning <br />Settlement <br /> <br />A DIRECTIVE TO THE SECRETARY OF THE INTERIOR TO <br />COMPLY WITH THE ADMINISTRATIVE PROVISIONS OF THE <br />AGREEMENT -- This legislation was passed as the <br />Colorado Ute Indian Water Rights Settlement Act of <br />1988. <br /> <br />IV. December 10, 1986 Settlement (ALP only). <br /> <br />The December 10, 1986, final settlement quantifies water <br />rights for the tribes on all major streams passing <br />through the reservations as well as granting the tribes <br />"Project Reserved Rights" in certain federal projects <br />that regulate the flows of those streams.
