Ou~175

4

The U. S. Geological Survey performed a major seepage run during the
summer of 1970 which was, in effect, a Herculean task of making actual
inflow - outflow measurements at hundreds of points. This basic data will
provide very significant input to future travel time - transit loss studies.
The U.S.G.S. data was reviewed in a very general way to determine whether
or not this 1970 measurement program would be applicable to this study and
report. It was concluded that the form of the U.S.G.S. seepage run results
was such that it was not directly applicable for use in this report, and
for that reason a separate effort was made to review, study, and analyze
historic hydrographs along the Arkansas River which covered past reservoir
releases.

v
c
.
~

.~

<
t

t~

,
~
~
j
"
.
~
)
f

~
~!

~~
~l

~l
