VRAIN SUPPLY CANAL HAVE BEEN <br /> <br />PROTECTED FROM EROSION BY PLACEMENT OF ROCK RuBBLE OR TUNNEL MUCK. <br /> <br />DURING THE PAST WINTER, <br /> <br />APPRQXIMATEL~ 4,200 cue,c YARDS O~ TUNNEL MUCK WAS HAULED AND PLACED WITHIN THE CANAL PRISM <br /> <br />BELOW RABBIT MOUNTAIN TUNNEL TO PROTtCT APPROXIMATELY 1.9 MILES OF CANAL BANK. <br /> <br />ALSO, <br /> <br />APPROXIMATELY 3,000 CUBIC YARDS OF ROCK RUBOLE HAVE BEEN HAULED AND PLACED AS BANK PROTEC- <br /> <br />TION ON 0.8 OF A MILE OF THE EARTH StCTIONS OF THE CANAL rRO~ CARTER LAKE TO THE LITTLE <br /> <br />;- <br /> <br />THOMPSON SIPHON. As PREVIOUSLY eXPLAINED, THE ROCK RUBBLE USED IS FROM THE SPOIL PILtS <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />THAT RESU~TED fROM THE REMOVAL OF MATERIAL rROM THE SLIDE WHICH OCCURRED IN THE SPRING O~ <br /> <br />1957. <br /> <br />IT NOW APPEARS THAT THE CANAL BANK PROTtCTIDN PROGRAM THAT ORIGINATED IN THE WINTER <br /> <br />OF 1960-61 WILL REQUIRE. AT OUR PRESENT RATE. AT LEAST TWO MORE YEARS TO COMPLETE. IT <br /> <br />SEEMS ALMOST CERTAIN, HOWEVER, THAT THERE WILL BE SOME AREAS THAT WILL REQUIRE ADDITIONAL <br /> <br />REPLACEMENT OF MATERIAL FOR SEVERAL YEARS TO COME. <br /> <br />THE LITTLE THOMPSON SIPHON WAS DRAINED AND THE STEEL LINER INSPECTED AT THE CLOSL <br /> <br />O~ THE 1967 SEASON.
