Several major differences be~ween these two l~nd resource areas' are apparent. The
Central Loess Plains Area has a' higher percentage of cropland, a much higher percentage of
irrigated land, and a lower .percentage of pasture and, woodlands. '

Nonagricultural land represents only 3.7 percent of the total land area in the basin. This
land is primarily composed of urban are'as, roads, highways, and railroads.
