LEGEND

Deep, medium and moderately fine textured wet
soils -if drained and suitable as surface irrigated
cropland. Watertoble ranges from 0-3 feet in spring
and summer but drops to 2-4 feet in fall and winter
over most of the area .

Deep to shallow, moderately coarse and coarse tex-
tured, wet and moderately wet soils-if drained and
suitable for cropland but do best if a sub is main-
tained. Areas around Caputin and Del Norte have
watertobles over 10 feet. The area east of Monte
Vista and the area east of the gunbarrel and north
of river ranges from 3-6 feet to watertable. The
wotertable fluctuates with the irrigation season.

Very severely alkaline, wet and moderately wet
soils that are not suited as cropland if drained.
Drainage is not considered feasible. Watertable
ranges from 4-10 feet.

Deep, medium textured, well drained and moder-
ately well drained soils suited to cropland if irri-
gated. About 10% of the area would benefit from
drainage, Wotertoble is generally deeper than 8
feet except for small parts of the area.

Various kinds of well drained and excessively drain-
ed soils - largely farest, brush and grass land. No
watertable except in meadow areas along creeks and
high alpine and sub alpine meadows.
