New Mexico <br /> <br />The Honorable Mark White <br />Governor of the State of Texas <br />Austin, Tellas <br /> <br />Sirs : <br /> <br />The 47th Annual MeetIng of the Rio Grande Compact Commission was held in Santa ~e. <br />New Mekico, on Harch 27, 1986. <br /> <br />The Commission reviewed 1ts prior reports and the current reports of the Secretary <br />relatIve to streamflow at Compact g.ging sutions and stor-llge in reservoirs. In its <br />July 2, 1985 report to the Governors the Commission found that actual spill of usable <br />w.ter from Project Storage had occurred on June 13 lQBS. pursuant to the May 13. 1985 <br />agreement of the Commissioners. AccordinglY, all accrued debits of Colorado and <br />New Mexico were cancelled p~rsuant to Article VI of the Rto Grande Compact. Accordin91y, no SuCh computations were made for 1985. <br /> <br />In addItion, the Commission found that: <br /> <br />(a) Delivertes of-wilter at the Colorado~New Medco st"te line by Colorado amounted <br />to 377,100 acre~feet in 1985 and the scheduled delivery for the year was <br />781.600 acre-feet. The lIal n in storage in 1985 in reserVOlrS in Colorado <br />constructed after 1937 aggregated 13.0UO aCre.feet. <br /> <br />(b) Deliveries of water into Elephant Butte Reservoir, as measured by the <br />Elephant Butte Effective Supply, amounted to 1,291,800 acre-feet in 1985 <br />and ttle schedul",d delivery for the year was 1.764,100 acre-feet. The gain <br />in storage in 1985 in reservoirs in New Mexico above San Marcial constructed <br />after 1929 a99regated 313,600 acre-feet. <br /> <br />rcl Releases of usable water In 1985 from Project Storage amounted to 670,200 acre-feet. <br />Actual spIll of usable water from Project Storage aggregated 7,800 acre-feet In <br />July. 1985, subsequent to the occurrence of actual spill. <br />(d) Expenses of the administrat10n of the Rio Grande Compact were S93,171 in the fiscal <br />year ending June 3D, 1985.
