.

2. Use of WSP Model for Analysis of Instream Flow/Fisheries and Recrea-
tion Relationships

~.--. a. Input Data for Model Calibration
-.J
C,.'l
t::)

.

The measurements and calculated coordinates of points A,B,C,

and 0 were obtained either from existing cross-section data or

from CIFSG field surveys, as was the maximum water depth and

its location on a transect (see section III 01 d,4': page 25

of this report). These measurements provide the initial data

to simulate representative reach width, depth, and geometric

configuration at the various cross-sections. Distances between

cross-sectiol)s and observations of substrate conditions also

come from existing or newly-acquired field data. The cfs flow

at time of measurement was available for existing data and was

acquired from the USGS reach-related gage for new cross-section

measurement. The following information was coded in an input-

data card deck:

a. Flow at time of measurement of channel characteristics

(calibration flow),

b. Water surface elevation,

c. Substrate roughness (estimated), and

.

47
