Monthly discharges for two or more series, e.g., median and dry

years.

C. Target Fish Species and Life Stages

Target species are those which are expected to respond significantly to

imposed physical changes in their aquatic environment. The methodology

paper(1) previously cited contains suggested target species. "Pool

.

species" and "riffle species" are listed for evaluation of the impacts on

both types of habitat. Species listed may be combined as appropriate for
small streams or the larger rivers.

Fish may be affected by changes in the stream environment during any of

four life history stages: egg (spawning and incubation), fry, juvenile,

or adult. Passage is a critical activity which must be considered in the

life cycl~s of certain fishes.

D. Recreational Activities

Certain recreational activities are definitely related to flowing

streams.
