<br />Many miles of siphons, canals,
<br />intake dams, conduits and
<br />other transmission and distri-
<br />bution facilities complete the system. The
<br />1,702 miles of transmission and distribu-
<br />tion mains, in fact, would reach from Den-
<br />ver to beyond Baltimore if stretched out.
<br />Additionally, the system includes 36 pump-
<br />ing stations which deliver some 108.3 mil.
<br />lion gallons of water per day to more than
<br />200.000 taps and 8,311 fire hydrants.

<br />No other large city has been able to
<br />maintain a water system with a better rat-
<br />ing than Denver's from the National Fire
<br />Protective Association, a bonus to all Den~
<br />verites through reduced fire insurance rates.
<br />The Denver Board of Water Commission-
<br />ers points tq past achievements to assure
<br />Denver of an adequate water supply in the
<br />future. The future requires vision and plan-
<br />ning so the Denver area's continuing water
