Call to Order <br /> <br />The business meeting was called to order by Chairman Robert S. Sanchez, Jr., <br />Sped a 1 Assi stant to the Secretary, Department of the I nteri or, Albuquerque, <br />New Mexico. The meeting commenced at 8:30 a.m., September 5, 1980 in <br />the Envoy Room of the Quality Inn in Denver, Colorado. The Chair expressed <br />appreciation to William McDonald, State of Colorado, for his handling of <br />meeting arrangements. The theme of the meeting was: In-Basin Augmentation <br />Potentials for the Colorado River Basin. Self-introductions were made <br />by attendees. A list of attendees 'is included as Part C-l of attachments. <br /> <br />2. Announcements <br /> <br />There were no announcements. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />I ' <br />Approval of Minutes I <br /> <br />Minutes of the 80-1 meeting were approved as submitted. <br /> <br />A motion to accept the minutes as submitted was made, seconded, and <br />passed. <br /> <br />4. Water Yield Improvement through Vegetative Management - Larry Hensen, <br />U.S. Forest Service, Rocky Mountain Region. <br /> <br />Mr. Larry Hensen discussed the present status of the Rocky Mountain Region's <br />regional planning and forest planning activities in relation to the <br />Resources Planning Act. The Regional Plan includes an overall assessment <br />of potentials on all the forest lands within the region. The forest <br />plan is a more specific planning process in which specific alternatives <br />and plans are identified and evaluated. The objective of the forest <br />planning program is to maintain the multiple use concept on a sustained <br />yield basis. Draft reports for the regional and forest plans were to <br />have been available prior to this PSIAC meeting; however, they have not <br />yet been completed and it is anticipated that they will be available <br />prior to the December meeting and will be made available for review by <br />the Committee members. <br /> <br />B-1 <br /> <br />;J.\< ,l!;. <br />
