The region lacks a unified comprehensive <br />archeological and historical survey, but based on previous survey, <br />testing, and salvage work from existing water resources development and <br />river basin surveys, archeological sites would be expected to be <br />numerous along terraces adjacent to permanent streams and rivers over <br />the eastern half of Texas and into Arkansas, and many sites would be <br />identified in survey work. <br /> <br />Of the 184 sites listed in the National Register of Historic <br />Places, only 2 would be potentially affected by the water transfer <br />facilities. These are listed in Table 21. The remainder of the listed <br />sites are located within towns or cities or are distant from the <br />corridor and storage reservoirs. <br /> <br />D43 <br />
