The National Park Service prepared this EA in conjunction with a draft special regulation . <br />authorizing personal watercraft use at Curecanti National Recreation Area. <br /> <br />Completion and implementation of the regulation requires the National Park Service to comply with the <br />National Environmental Policy Act which calls for the evaluation of alternatives and their impacts. This <br />examination of alternalives is the content of the Environmental Assessment (EA). The 30 calendar-day <br />public review period begins on the date of this letter. If you wish to comment on the document, you may <br />submit your comments by anyone of several methods: you may mail or I1and-deliver written comments to <br />Superintendent, Curecanti National Recreation Area, 102 Elk Creek, Gunnison, CO 81230; you may <br />electronic mail to CURE@dell.llvs.eovoryou may fax to (970) 641-3127. <br /> <br />At a later date, you will be able to comment on the draft special regulation during the designated 60- <br />calendar-day public review and comment period. which will begin on the date the regulation is published <br />in the Federal Register. If you wish to comment on this rule, you may submit your comments by anyone <br />of several methods: you may mail or hand-deliver written comments to Superintendent, Curecanti <br />National Recreation Area, 102 Elk Creek, CO 81230, you may electronic mail to CURE <br />SlI/Jerilltelldell1@llvs.llovoryou may fax to (970) 641-3127. <br /> <br />Our practice is to make comments on the special regulation and the EA, including names and addresses of <br />respondents, available for public review during regular business hours. If you wish us to withhold your name and/or address, then you must state this <br />prominently at the beginning of your comment.
