While this new development is nol cause for alarm. it requires immediate <br />attention on the part of Reclamation. <br /> <br />The seepage is occlIlTing in an area immediatcfy downslream frOI11 the dal11 on the right side, <br />between the base of the dam and the Rocky For~ Creek Bypass. While all dams seep, the current <br />situation at RuetH Dam is c.atlse for l'oncern because the seep is carrying small amounts of <br />sediment with the water. "This is a potentially serious situation," explained Jack Garner, <br />Reclamation's Area Mmlllger. "We have posted l\ 24.hour watch onlhe dam and the seep so that <br />we can obselve any changes in the situation and take appropriate actions." <br /> <br />Reclamation will also be increasing releases 11.0m Ruedi Rese.voir Lo reduce the amount of <br />seepage and to allow for a I11l)1'e thorough investigation and evaluation of the situation. <br />"Currently, we are releasing 250 crs through the olltlet works and we will step that up to 400 ers <br />overnight (Wednesday night.}," Garner said.
