C. <br /> <br />Dear Mr. President: <br /> <br />In pursuance of the call of the President, your Projects Committee met <br /> <br />on June 3, 1964, to consider the projects submitted since the last session of <br /> <br />the National Rivers and Harbors Congress. Hearings were afforded all Who made <br /> <br />appearance. <br /> <br />The Committee at this session has examined 59 proposals embracing all <br /> <br />resource improvements with which this Congress is concerned, including navigable <br /> <br />waterways, harbors, flood control, hurricane protection, soil conservation, <br /> <br />reclamation, and water conservation. <br /> <br />Of the proposals examined, this Committee is convinced that 32 cOn- <br /> <br />stitute projects sound in conception, needful, and sufficiently advanced in <br /> <br />status to warrant endorsement, involving a total estimated cost of $2,705,920,000. <br /> <br />Fourteen proposals appear to be without sufficiently advanced development to <br /> <br />warrant project endorsement at tbis time, but are believed to be meritorious <br /> <br />and entitled to further consideration by this Committee, if and when additional <br />
