<br />A feasibility study to determine the beat method of 'increasing water

<br />delivery efficiency in'the Grand Valley a~ea began in FY 1972 with the

<br />purpose of eliminating a part of the rcturn flm. containing high con-

<br />ccntrations of salt, and thereby reduce the salinity of the Colorado
<br />
<br />River.

<br />Four irrigation entitics divert watcr from the Colorado River. Thcse
<br />
<br />include the Grand Valley Hater Uscrs Association (Dureau of ReclazGtion.

<br />Projcct) and thrce privata c~panics. The Grand Valley Irriz:!tion Cc~r-"ny,

<br />The Palisade Irrigation District, and The Mesa County Ir~igation District.
