<br />Water Year 1980
<br />At the beginning of water year 1980, the
<br />reservoir water surface elevation was
<br />6,008 feet with a content of 2,569,000
<br />acre-teet. The April through July 1980
<br />runoH above Flaming Gorge was 1,496,000
<br />acre-feet. 131 percent of the long-term
<br />average. With this runoff, the reservoir
<br />reached its seasonal maximum elevation
<br />of 6,024 feet with a content of 3,124,000
<br />acre-feet at the end of July, By the end
<br />of September, the elevation was 6,023
<br />feet with a content of 3,078,000 acre-feet.

<br />Water Year 1981
<br />During water year 1981. the reservoir
<br />level at Flaming Gorge will be drawn from
<br />6,023 feet to about 6,018 feet before the
<br />spring of 1981, The water level should
<br />remain high enough to launch boats
<br />from the reservoir's nine ramps. Average
<br />inflow would result in a maximum eleva-
<br />tion of 6,031 feet with a storage of
<br />3,387,000 acre-Ieet during July, Flow in
<br />the river below the dam is not expected
<br />to exceed 4,600 tt'/s or fall below 800
<br />1t3/5.

<br />Since there IS enough storage space for a
<br />D!90 inflow .and enough.- stored. water in
<br />case of a low inflow, the release from
<br />Flaming Gorge is not dependent on inflow
<br />for water year 1981, but rather on the
<br />demand for electric power and the avail-
<br />ability of energy for purchase and
<br />exchange.
