An appropriate sign perpetuates this bit of <br />Americana for posterity. <br /> <br />7. Cooperative Studies aos! Activities: <br />(a) Article VIII G (]) of Arkansas River Compact requires the <br />Administration to cooperate with the Chief Official of each of <br />the states of Colorado and Kansas charged with the ad- <br />ministration of water rights in their respective States, and with <br />the Federal agencies in systematically determining and <br />correlating the facts pertaining to the flow and diversion of the <br />water of the Arkansas River and to the operation and siltation of <br />JaM Martin Reservoir and other related structures. Article VIII <br />G (2) requests the Director of the United States Geological <br />Survey. the Commissioner of the United States Bureau of <br />Reclamation. and the Chief of the Engineers. United States <br />Army. to cooperate and collaborate with the Administration and <br />with appropriate State officials in such determinations and <br />correlations of stream now and related data. Under the By- <br />Laws of the Administration. these cooperative sludies and ac- <br />tivities are assigned to the Engineering Committee of the <br />Administration. <br /> <br />Ib) During the year covered by this report the Administration has <br />received excellent cooperation from all agencies referred to in <br />the foregoing provisions of the Compact. The United States <br />Geological Survey has continued the operation of the compact <br />gaging stations and the analysis and compilation of the <br />hydrologic data presented in this report and used in the ad- <br />ministration of the Compact. The Corps of Engineers continued <br />to operate the conservation pool of John Martin Reservoir in <br />accordance with the terms of the Compact and the orders of the <br />Administration. <br />8. Water Supply. Reserv<\lr Operation. and Hydrologic Data. <br />The winter storage season for John Marlin Reservoir began on <br />November I, t!ll5 at 12:01 a.m., with the reservoir empty. <br />The first demand for river flow was made by Colorado at 12:0t <br />a.m.. on November I. 1975. The river flow demand was continued until <br />10:00 a.m..
