~0!4~9

Alternative 2: Management Measures
Acres

1,000
3,500
6,000
1,000
Total Project Cost is $187,000.

Acres of Nutrient management practices,
Irrigation water management,
Residue Management
Acres of pest management

Effects - Implementation of management practices will more effectively use irrigation

water thus reducing deep percolation. Minor reduced irrigation induced erosion,

sediment movement, and improved water quality of the surface and ground water will

also occur. The overail effect is an improvement in the water quality of return flows

and groundwater within the watershed. Nutrient and selenium state standards will not

be met.

The amount of cont'lminants entering the ecological system from agriculture would be

reduced slightly rv utilizing this alternative. The social and economic conditions would

have minor ch,lnC'''s as improved water application effectiveness ailows the agricultural

producers to better meet crop needs and contribute to the goal of improved water

quality. The known cultural resources in the area would not be impacted.

i'lliffi
