Heavy <br />rains or melting snow may fill the basin with water. <br /> <br />llpe II - Inland Fresh Meadows: The soil Is usually without <br />standing water during nnst of the growing season, but is <br />waterlogged within a few inches of its surface. . They may <br />occur in shallow, flat basins or border shallow marshes. <br /> <br />llpe III - Inland Shallow Fresh Marshes: Soil Is usually water- <br />--rogged during the growing season; often it is covered with as <br />much as six inches or more of water~ Vegetation commonly in- <br />cludes grasses, bulrushes, spike rushes, smartweeds, cattails, <br />etc. They are conmonly-without surface water by mid-summer. <br /> <br />Type IV - Inland Deep Fresh Marshes: The soil Is covered with <br />six inches to 3 feet or more of water during the growing <br />season. Vegetation includes bulrushes. cattails, smartweeds <br />naiads, coontail, "~onrlweeds, water lilies, etc. . <br /> <br />Type V - Inland Ooen Fresh Water: Shallow ponds and reservoirs <br />are included 1n this type.
