The <br />return flows from the use of this <br />water and from the 1.670 acre-feet of <br />conveyance losses would make a <br />total of 1,300 additional acre-feet of <br />irrigation water available below the <br />design project. <br /> <br />Costs <br /> <br />The 1980 cost estimate for construc- <br />lion of the design project is $16 <br />million. The interest cost during <br />construction would be $6.6 million. <br />The annual costs for operation. main- <br />tenance. and replacement would be <br />$97,000. <br /> <br />Impacts <br /> <br />The investment requ ired would total <br />nearly $23 million in construction <br />costs and interest during construc- <br />tion. The net economic benefit would <br />be -$11 million. <br /> <br />The estimated impact on waler qual- <br />ity would represent a small positive <br />change from existing conditions.
