The rec- <br /> <br />ommendations contained in the reports of the various organizations <br /> <br />were considered in developing this program. <br /> <br />The progress reports by the Bureau of Reclamation, the salinity <br /> <br />report by the Colorado River Board of California, the Upper and <br /> <br />Lower Colorado Region Comprehensive Framework Studies of the Water <br /> <br />Resources Council, and the EPA report, have served to identify and <br /> <br />better define the issues involved. .The important fact emerging is <br /> <br />that salinity is projected to increase unless a comprehensive, basin- <br /> <br />wide water quality management plan is implemented and s~ported by <br /> <br />the installation of structural and nonstructural measures to control <br /> <br />salinity increases. Projected estimates of salinity levels at Imperial <br /> <br />Dam are presented in Table 2. The projected salinity levels in all <br /> <br />studies are considerably above the prescnt modificd average concentra- <br /> <br />tion of 865 mg/l. <br /> <br />8 <br /> <br />
