Multiplied by
$500.00 the total cost would be $37,500.00. It should be noted
that the cost of some of the above personnel is somewhat less
than 5500.00 per day. The above estimate assumes that no
decisions and therefore no work will be done on refining and
doing more specific reviews of Phase I work on the Upper Basin
before September 20. However, it may become necessary for some
procedural decisions to be made before September 20 in order to
productively utilize 75 staff days.

.

Number of Stations to Use - At the present time we have outlined
the drainage areas for about 40 gaging stations on maps to be
used for the remote sensing work. All of these stations have a
pretty good period of record (at least 10 years) and are fairly
well scattered over the entire Lower Basin. We have downloaded
daily flow data for these stations and converted it into monthly
data. We will probably develop virgin flows for all of these
stations. Hopefully these stations will be adequate.

Linking the Upper Basin to the Lower"Basin - In the virgin flow
estimates of the Upper Gunnison Basin (Phase I), the Gunnison
River at Crystal Dam was the Base Station. The negative errors
in the difference files were distributed amoung the upstream
stations, and the Gunnison River at Crystal Dam was left as it
was originally computed. When the mass balance is done for the
Lower Basin between Gunnison River at Crystal Dam and the
Gunnison River at Grand Junction, the decision will have to be
