The States
,:,f Colorado and Ne.. Mexico, the eity of Durango, and local interests
have all actively supported development of the project and have con-
t!'ibuted fU11ds toward the cost of project investigations. The existing
La Plata Water Conservancy Districts in'Colorado and New Mexico are ex-
pected to be expanded to serve as the administrative and rep~ent con-
tracting agencies.

My proposed report was transmitted to the affected States and inter-
ested Federal agencies for review on October 12, 1962, as required Qy
law and Presidential instructions. Copies of the revie.. comments re-
'"ived fire attached to the report.

1~ report includes a supplement dated March 31, 1966, ..hieh updates the
February 1962 plan of development for the project to conform to current
policy and price indexes and modifies it to provide significantly greater
'municipal and industrial water supplies to meet recently manifested re-
'quirements for such supplies.

,.
..i:~.
i
,

""-'110:.

'r"-'. --

,',-_.

-'....._~-~-

'l'

,
.
;
,
.
I
..

,

~
j
i

',1
.:._h,~
